I love wine and certainly drink my fair share of it, and you may as well. Then again, you may like wine but just not be sure which you like best. It can be easy to get confused when looking at hundreds or thousands of different types. How can you tell if you'll think a wine is good?

First of all, if you like it, it's good! It is a matter of personal taste. If you have a one you enjoy, write down the label information. Don't plan on remembering! Try the wine again and see if you enjoy it as much. Keep in mind how and when you have a wine can affect its enjoyment. There may be ones you love with food, but don't enjoy as much alone, and vice-versa.

Try wines similar to the ones you've found you enjoy. If there is an Australian Shiraz you enjoy, for example, try other ones too. Wine shops are also great as you can get advice from people that know wine well. They can often suggest new wines you may love based on previous wines you enjoy. You will not get this kind of advice at a supermarket for example, even if they have a wide variety.

Also experiment. Try different wines. One great way is to get some friends together and just open some different bottles to see what people like. This can be a formal wine tasting, or you just opening a few bottles whenever people get together.

Remember the golden rule: If you like it, it's good! You taste is in charge.
